We use to live in Clermont Fl until the big boom of development. I personally don’t like HOA’s as I had to deal with it there. We finally moved to Tn out in the country in one of the poorest counties in the state. No city tax, low county tax. When the state re appraised our property in the county (because outsiders were buying at high prices) at triple of what it was, the county changed the tax formula to keep our taxes about the same. When we were gone 2 months to Alaska our newborns took care of the place.
