It’s amazing all the little things that happen on long trips!

i noticed a lot of water dripping off the rear passenger’s side of the motorhome. I assume this is condensation from the AC’s as we’ve had no rain. I’ve read a little and I believe there should be drains on the roof. I have a 2021 Ventana. Is this true?

If so, where are they located & is the there a way to unclog without getting on the roof? I’m not a bit fan of getting on the roof!!! I have a telescopic ladder.

Thanks.

As you have girards this may be the case and there should be four corner drains and they do have a history of clogging up. I have a 2017 Ventana and draining off the roof into the built in gutters which then drip off the four corners is normal. I defer to those with Girards on how to maintain your drain lines which should drain into the wheel well.

There are four drains up there, one in each corner. They clog easily. You can unclog them from below by blowing them out with compressed air into the drain tubes that run inside your front and rear caps. You can also run a fish tape upwards through the tube, which is what I did once. Either way, you will have to climb on your ladder to remove whatever comes out on the top side. You do not have to get on the roof to do this.

There is a perforated metal grate covering the drain openings in the gutters that are held in place with silicone caulk. They are good at keeping out leaves, but everything else goes right through. Easy to remove and replace.
