I recently bought a 2018 31’ toy hauler, I’ve got a Harley I like to haul around. It has the provisions for a generator (but no generator), and I want to install a generator, my question is, is it best to go with the Onan generator that usually comes with this trailer, or are there other options?

Depends on what you want to run with it, but even if you want to run an AC unit, a honda 3kw would do it all for you. Ive run a 15k btu RV AC on a 2000 w Honda but you really cant run much else when doing that. But either way, the new Honda inverter/generators are quiet, efficient, low maintenance, and long lasting, so that's how I would go. And Id go with a 3kw to have a nice margin.
