Has anyone used an after cooler on their air compressor?
Nifty way to dry out the compressor air.

I’ve seen it done with running a coil of copper tubing through a bucket of water. Simple and effective.

Can't help but wonder why?

First off, are we talking about modifying the brake system? Or are we talking about our portable compressor?

In a sense I do! My compressor came with an aluminum 1.5 gallon pressure tank. This acts as an after cooler/water separator. If I were doing a lot of work with air tools, where the compressor ran a long time, then it might make such an investment worth while. The down side would,of course be that RVers consider size, and weight, when considering purchases. Heck, the fact that my compressor has a tank, takes it off the radar for many RVers.

So there you have it!!!

Sorry I was not clear, this is for an air compressor in the shop. Not the RV.

That I can see!

Yes I have. I ran pipe down the wall with a drier at the bottom.

I think that the heat exchanger is a good idea!!!
