Heading to Yellowstone in the spring from NH. I am new to the RV life. When is the best time to head that way?

I usually go for the entire month of May. The bears are coming out of hibernation and are active, as are the wolf pups. The crowds are not as bad as in the summer. Be prepared for all kinds of weather. One day you might be wearing shorts with the sun shinning and the next, you will be pulling out your wool cap and boots for a little snow and/or rain action. Also in May is the Hell's A-Roarin' Horse Drive through the town of Gardiner as the horses move from their winter to summer home.
