Question All time favorite campgrounds?

Our favorite in PA is Ives Run in Tioga, PA which is north central nearly in NY State. It is an Army Corp of Engineers campground so if you have the Lifetime Membership to the National Parks system, it costs all of $20 per night for full hook-ups, a paved site, plenty of room to maneuver around the campground in our 41' coach. There are trees, a lake, fishing, hiking trails, and clean bathrooms. This picture was from our site looking towards the lake.View attachment 3511

Luv Ives run. Have camped there many times, as a matter of fact was there two weeks ago mid May 2025. Beautiful lake Hammond and beach is really nice. But be warned you have to book in advance, this place is always packed in the summer months. Even get a discount with the Lifetime membership National Parks Pass.

We like staying at the Ocean city campgrounds in Ocean shores. The campground is clean and there is usually private spaces and it is close to the beach we like to sit on for the entire day ... So maybe the beach is the best part of it.

We also loved the campground at Alta Lake' but not all the spaces are great, we had one lake front and 90% of the spaces are not lake front. While we enjoyed the lake front it also had ALL the kids from every other camp running through it. I never mind if kids are running through it is enjoyable for me to see kids playing outside. But it drove my son nuts.

The Marina rv park in Brewster WA was really nice and great if you have a little put around boat for fishing. I enjoyed that it was quiet and the few people that were there were respectful of quiet time.... But the time we were there it was HOT HOT HOT. Not enough shade. Not much privacy as the spaces were close together. But great river view.

The KOA in Lincoln City Oregon is very nice in itself, but not close to the ocean or the lake. The Koa in Polson Montana is nice great views but not easy access to lake.

What are your all time favorite campgrounds and why. What are your most memorable?

Our favorite right now is Thomson Causeway in Thomson Illinois. Beautiful and quiet.
