My fellow geeks...I've been using Corsair mechanical keyboards for years, like them. Not sure why but some time ago in recent months YouTube started showing me mechanical keyboards from two vendors, one of which is Keychron. I researched and was impressed and figured I'd give one a try. WOW!!! What have I been missing????

There are a lot of options, I wanted a 100% version (numpad) and wired so that put me in the Q6 QMK but I'm probably going to order another for my other office and a 80% possibly for the RV.

Check them out and maybe a sale opportunity on Black Friday coming soon.

WOW!!! What have I been missing????
Morning fellow Geek...
Whenever something excites you this much, I have to check it out. WHAT have you been missing...what are the most significant differences?
Hope you're doing well.

Hi Gil, all is well, hope the same with you. A quality keyboard makes a big difference when you're a programmer, etc. etc. spending a lot of time at a computer. The most important thing beyond the layout (for me number pad, etc.) is the feel of the keys. How hard are they to press, how much noise do they make, how do they feel to type on, how accurate are they so when you think you're pressing a key it actually registers, etc.

I previously used the Corsair K100 RGB mechanical keyboard with OPX switches which has been great for about two years until I learned of this Keychron world. So I figured I'd try it out and I really like it. I also really like the Logitech keyboards both full size and mini and use those in the RV currently, sometimes switching but mainly the mini due to limited dinette space for mouse, coffee mug, iPhone, etc. At home, I like a wired keyboard so I don't have to deal with any connectivity issues or low battery, etc.

Just a preference thing, make the computing time as enjoyable as possible and not be frustrated by something not ergonomic or not working as expected.

So, do they make noise when typing?

Originally learned on a manual typewriter (showing my age) but the noisy keyboards I hate these days.

I normally use Logitech or the Apple keyboards currently but always lime looking at options.

The noise option is a choice in which keys you choose. I went with the "red" which are the least travel and most silent. I like both Apple keyboards, which I use with my mac, and Logitech because they are quiet and tactile, great keyboards. I just got into the land of mechanical keyboards about 5 years ago and enjoy them.

I became addicted to Microsoft 4000 ergonomic keyboards years ago. Current one has a lot of letters worn of fit and is looking a bit shabby. Problem is that Microsoft quit making/selling them years ago. I seem to not be the only one that likes them as vintage samples in good condition are fetching $350-400. Dammit.
Thanks for the link but nothing there really trips my trigger. I've picked up a couple of modestly priced ones but have tossed them all back in the box after a while. I WOULD have to be weird and like something no longer made.

I loved those ergonomic keyboards and used them for years. I bought them in 5 packs as I hated when the keys got hard to press, and my mother uses them so she got my last one and I went back to normal. It was interesting to see that keychron makes them, they call them "Alice" keyboards. Not sure of the options available but here is one just as a FYI:
