AMAZON PRIME MEMBERS!!
Are you "thinking" that using their "Family/Household" option is letting your spouse share your PRIME membership? Well, we were...until I found out we WEREN'T!

YOU BETTER CHECK to make sure they're not DOUBLE-BILLING you!! I just discovered they had suckered my wife into a Prime membership and charged us $16/month for the past 2.5 years, on top of my annual subscription of $150!!

Before you wonder how this could happen, just realize that monthly charge can be disguised and buried in all the other similar named line items on the Amazon Visa.

Figuring we couldn't be the only ones, I set out to research and to no surprise, IT'S A BIG PROBLEM!! I found many forums, reddit threads, and more. Amazon will "as a courtesy", give you 6 months credit. Big whoop.

In 2023, the FTC has filed and taken action against AMAZON for their practices of NON-CONSENSUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS AND CANCELATION TRICKERY!!

That was then, this is now. The FTC in 2025 is a joke. All Bezos has to do is quash a WaPo article, or sack a reporter and that FTC action will suddenly go away!

Oh for SURE…no argument there!

The only point I was making was that this has happened to a lot do people and reached a higher level of “government” complaint.

Still doesn’t give me much solace just because others fell prey. But this caught my wife, and caught me off-guard…so the gloves are off to at least earn others.

Many folks would be surprised at the monthly subscriptions that are billed to their CC's. I had Sirius/XM for years until I found that what I'd thought was a $16.00 a month rate had been raised to $45.00. It was my fault for not paying attention and that's what they count on.

Thanks for joining me...makes ya mad, huh?

I REALLY love the "Subscription" section and interface that Apple has on the iPhone! For anything I can, I try to use Apple for the subscription. BUT THAT TOO, has it's caveats. For example, IF you "accidentally" accept Netflix on your AppleTV, and it charges your Apple account, THAT NEGATES THE FREE subscription that's provided for a T-Mobile customer!

Honestly, it's this whole "autopay" with "paperless" statements that's causing this...shall I say...apathy. But, in my case, I got my spanking and it's GAME ON! "Fool me once..."

The toughest time canceling a subscription, for me, was Angi's list. It took me five years and finally correspondence with their corporate. The problem was their subscriptions were handled third party. I'd think I'd successively canceled only to find the subscription had been renewed without my okay. Even now, some CC's won't allow you to cancel a # and then get a reissued card. Chase Bank/Visa has a sweetheart deal with subscription services where they just roll everything back into the new card. Which I discovered the hard way. Chase Banks response to me was, "that's the way it is". With my Mastercard however, it's quite easy to cancel the card and get a reissue. Any subscriptions then must be reauthorized before they can debit the card #. I just do that now instead of going hat in hand to whichever subscription svc. I want to drop.
