Hi RVers, We are new to this forum and are looking forward to your expertise and good vibes. My husband is an Antique dealer who travels to different shows in the US and Canada. Now that I've retired we want to travel together with our 2 cats and enjoy the RVing lifestyle. We have not bought an RV yet but have been looking for a used Class A diesel, preferably between 36 and 39 feet that is less than 6 years old. Must have 1 and a half baths to keep this marriage together ;-). We have many questions before we buy and hope you will be willing to share your experience with us. My first 2 questions are what feature are you really glad you have on your RV? What feature do you wish you had on your RV? I would really appreciate answers that are applicable to the type of RV that I described earlier, otherwise I'll get very confused. Thanks!

Welcome from Texas

Welcome. I love having the TV directly across from the recliners - no neck twisting to watch it. I wish I had an auto generator start.

Hi! We lived in Ft. Worth for about 5 years. Round Top is one of the antique shows my husband does twice a year and one of the places we would be using our future RV.
Let us know the next time y'all go to Round Top.

I've noticed the seating that isn't in line with the TV and wondered if it would uncomfortable. What a great tip on the auto start on the generator!

Charlie should be there for the October show. He sets up at the Carmine Dance Hall. I'll confirm when it gets closer.

Welcome from Georgia! The floor plan is the most important thing. You can change almost everything else!

If you haven't already looked in the Classifieds here, @FLSteve has a nice looking 40' Dutch Star for sale. I know you said that you wanted 36-39', but having owned a 38' for over 10 years I'll share a few thoughts on what drove me up into a larger rig.

1 1/2 bath is hard to get in a unit under 40' without giving up space in the kitchen and bedroom
I wanted a tag axle - tired of fighting the cross-winds and getting exhausted
Newmar Comfort Drive - only helps to further reduce the cross wind and driving fatigue
Increased HP / torque. My 300 HP Cummins and 5 speed trans does a great job through the plains, but as we travel more West, I didn't want to be at the limit of my towing capacity and take the chance or overheating the engine or trans on a long ascent.

I went to a Dutch Star 4369 (43'). As others have stated, floorplan is one of the most important things, and as much as I would have like to stay at 40' in a 4018 like Steve's, my wife liked the floorplan of a 4369 we found instead.

Happy hunting.
