Ken, thanks. I don't need financing, strictly paying cash and it's highly unlikely that I would buy from a dealership - private owner only. I've heard NOTHING but bad things about RV dealerships that make used car salesmen sound like nuns. I've heard nothing good. Since I'm a first time RV buyer I would be an easy mark. I've already bought a truck, and I basically stole it. I've had it for two months. I spent several months looking for the one I wanted but prices have/had gone through the roof and the one I wanted couldn't even be found. I was looking for a 2019 Ram 3500 Laramie with the HO engine and tran that pulls 30,000 lbs. and has a 1,000 lbs of torque. Firstly, that particular vehicle wasn't anywhere to be found and dealers and the few owners were asking original sticker price for 2019-2020 1500's. I wanted that model because I didn't know what size of a fifth wheel I would be getting and having grown up in Florida I wanted something that would handle going up and down mountain roads, something I'm not very familiar with driving on. I was ready to give up because I wasn't going to pay sticker for a used vehicle, especially when I realized that particular vehicle would probably list for anywhere from 80-100k. in the current environment. I did a final search on Craigslist in the Jacksonville area, and nothing, then switched to the state and there was one in Ft. Lauderdale, a 2019 Laramie with a lot of add extra features like 17 speaker Harmon Kardon, factory fifth wheel dually and only 21k mileage for 64k. Didn't believe it, called the guy and when I asked why he was asking low Kelly Blue Book he said he didn't want to rip people off like dealerships were doing and in fact had dealers calling him to buy it. To good to be true, right? I caught a flight down and expected to end up in the bottom of the ocean. We took it to a dealer for a checkup and everything was fine with it. So, now I have the truck that will pull anything and want to buy a toy hauler fifth wheel in the next 30-60 days so I can be ready by spring.
