We are looking at a Puma 31 foot travel trailer that we will need to live in (short term) in Northern Michigan in January and February. This unit doesnt have an artic package. How much of a difference does having the artic package make in the winter ? thanks so much

I don't have any experience to offer there but what is important is your heating system. While it may run longer with less insulation, does it heat sufficiently?

I considered just doing electric space heaters as well. Not sure which would be best at this point

You REALLY need to check on the amount of insulation that trailer has. I lived in Northern Minnesota and I guarantee that almost all RVs would have problems staying warm and not freezing up during a normal winter that far north.

Artic package also usually includes tank heaters, and heated underbelly. These can make a huge difference in preventing lines from freezing in the cold. Northern Mich tells me much sub freezing temperatures. I would want all the help I could get.

Find out what their artic package includes.
