Atwood 6Gl water heater Gas control replacement.

Greetings. I have a Atwood G6A-7P hot water heater. I just replaced my gas control valve with Part # 91603. Now the burner tube wont fit. The new control valve is longer by half and inch. I also needed an elbow to make the gas line connection work. This is the one they call for. Any suggestions

I searched, but didn't see what the original valve was. Is it one that looks like a residential water heater?
