Awning issues

I bought a 2021 gulf stream enlighten that came with a carefree compass awning. to extend the awning i have to manually pull out on the non-motor side and then the awning will extend and retract normally. has anyone had this issue with their awning or have an idea what is causing this.

It has a strut that pushes it out once started? Something is out of alignment or the strut is worn.

Yup, just checked the make and model. It has a small strut that pushes it out.

Yeah there's a strut. i was wondering if that was the issue. i just have to give it a little pull and it will extend normal. so maybe that strut is just getting weak.
