With some experience with Solar I’ve found that having too much of any component can lead to dissatisfaction with Solar products.
Also, understanding the installation and installer intent is equally important.
Having a bunch of panels that max out the inverter can be efficient or annoying.
My home system is 12.5kW of panels with two inverters. However when installed only one inverter was active due to the Grid operator limiting production until permit’s approved.
limit 7.6kW.
Ok once I got the permit I turned on the other inverter. Max production 8.6kW????
After many months of fusing with the installation I discovered that a) installation is designed to run inverters at max capacity b) panels were not wired per spec.
too many panels driving one inverter.
Inverter production is limited to X Watts.
Inverter one limited to 7.7kW and inverter two limited to 3.4kW.
Once the panel strings are correctly wired each solar panel group is able to max its inverter at mid day.
Production 11,1kW at peak.
