We have an Aspect Winnie with two coach batteries. The Ford chassis battery drains over time.....any idea where this trickle could come from? If we disconnect battery there isn't a problem so thinking it must be coming from somewhere in the rig. Thx

From Wind and Solar FAQ

"Check if the current drain is real (sounds like it probably is)... If you have a shunt, place your volt meter on a low range (xxx mVolts, or 1-2 volt DC range) and see if you measure a voltage across the shut (it will probably something like 100mV=100 amps or 100mV=500amps or something like that).

You should ensure that each load is turned off normally, then disconnect one fuse/breaker/wire at a time until you find where the phantom load is coming from."

Here is a nice tutorial

Radio is on and volume turned all the way down?

what is "over time"? Most modern junk has parasitic loads for convenience related items. I got a battery charger for the truck that tows the fifth because it sits for ???? days without running and it makes no sense to idle it for charging the battery.

New vehicles have many, many small electrical components using small amounts. Once there is enough small uses, they add up to a high drain. Very common. The only way to combat it is to either disconnect the batteries entirely (several ways) or have a trickle charger (many choices, including solar) on them.

And just to note a lot of modern vehicles will have a 50 milliamp drain all the time and may kill a battery within 30 days, thats normal. That would require a 1 0r 2 amp trickle charger of good quality.

I had a class C once and it was the brake controller for the trailer. I can't recall if it was wired wrong or not.
