Yea… I agree about the money… It is why I am trying to decide between buying 6 and 8.
Don’t think of the money you are spending, but the money you are saving! ?

And the corrosion is really the biggest reason… I am really done with it.

Although the price is good, we decided to wait for the next sale (assuming there will be one) as we just don't know how much longer we will own our MH. We are not traveling as much as we would like due to my sons issues. Maybe next year.

Is this correct?
The 8 CG2 batteries are a total of 800 aH, but at 6 volts. Doesn't that equal 400 amp hours at 12 volt? On lead-acid batteries it is only safe to use half of the capacity. So, you have eight CG2 batteries which give you a usable 200 amp-hours at 12 volts.
The Battleborn batteries allow use of 100% of their rated amp hours. So, four of the Battleborn batteries give you (me) TWICE the capacity of the eight CG2s.
With the Battleborn batteries that look more like a lead-acid battery, the tray will easily hold six batteries. And the cables that came with our 8 CG2 batteries will cover a four battery installation.

That is a consideration. However, we are taking with us the original BIM and the copper bars used to connect the 6-volt batteries. Should we decide to switch RVs again, we can then quickly restore our Dutch Star to have the eight 6-volt Celestial Guide batteries and pull the Lithiums.

Yes…one lithium 12 v battery can provide the equivalent available capacity of 2 6v GC2s. This is one reason they are less expensive than at first glance.

One GC2 provides around 230 amp hours at 6v and the same 230 AH at 12v in pairs. Just the voltage doubles. So 8 GC2s provide around 800+ Ah but you can only use around half of that.

I have some experience with LiFePO4 batteries in the CanyonStar. When we had the Solar installed three years ago, we additionally installed two 300 Amp LiFePO4 packs from LifeBlue. These Packs have self contained Battery managers (BIM) so this use case might not be directly comparable to BatteBorn.
We did have a BIRD fail last year but not sure if that was due to these batteries. Replaced the BIRD with a standard BIRD.
Our experience has been very positive, no issues and plenty of electrical power.
Are they worth the cost, for me; the lack of needed maintenance (watering and corrosion mitigation) , substantially more useful power and weight savings, up to 50%, was worth it to me.

And although I have 8 GC2s today, and 6 lithium’s would provide more AH’s then what I have, the temptation to go for 8 is also there….

BTW, the lithium BIM is also on sale. $172.

As an Escapee member Battleborn sold me the Lithium BIM for $150.
