Be Careful mountain driving

Hope the horses survived, why some people just flyby us is crazy, I 70 today near Moab

So many don't know how to drive in our mountains. Gear down and stay off the brakes as much as possible. I've seen many large vehicles on I-70 burned to the ground. Also that RV looks new enough that it probably has an engine brake although I've driven heavy loads many times in the past without one.

When I leave the desert in April I spend my Summer in the Rocky Mountains ascending and descending high mountain passes with 6%-9% grades in NM, CO, WY, UT, MT, and ID. I am amazed by the number of bumper tow RVs, 5th wheels, Class C RVs towing and Class A RVs towing that are barrel-assing descending down the passes. I have not seen any incidents thankfully, but I do smell a lot of over heated and brakes and see the smoke....

Loved the engine brake on our Superstar!

Coming down 7% grade with the engine brake on high - actually had to push the suggestion pedal a couple times as it slowed me down to much. Exactly what you’d want them to do.

We usually go down the same speed as we go up. If ya wanna pass me, I do my best to make room for ya.
