I know the easiest route from Bakersfield to Redlands is I 5 south to I 10 east but i would much rather pass on the greater LA traffic if I can. The next obvious route is 58 east to Mojave. We have done this a couple of times and it's not fun. Besides the very steep incline and resulting decent, we have encountered heavy fog, sleet, heavy rain, ignorant semi drivers and the leadfoot sedan drivers that love to cut in front of us with little warning.

What can anyone tell me about taking 99 south joining I 5 until 138. Taking 138 all the way to I 15 then south all the way to I 10? I hope it's a lot better than 58.

Darrell
