Black tank usage

Our Black tank gauge, like most I’ve read about, has shown “full” since our first trip. Normally we just dump every week and have no problems. We have no idea how much we are dumping though and would like to start, if possible, waiting longer between “dumps”.

Is there a way to know how much flows out when dumping the tank.

I can’t help you there on how much flows out, but to help keep my gauge relatively accurate, I dump the tank before traveling then add a good tank treatment with 4 gallons of water. While traveling the agitation help clean the tank.

We pretty much do the same except our tank treatment consists of a cup of Pine-Sol Cleaner and about a cup of Borax with same about 4 gallons of water. Our coach is 14 years old and the gauges read accurately.
