Question BR slide and flooring issues

Hmmmm. Let’s see… new BR slide floor or replace new AGMs with lithium batteries. I’ll have to think about that for a second.

Disassemble! Waiting on the floor section fabrication. Which was ordered in August.

In case anyone wondered. The plastic pan in the BR slideout floor is the black rectangle. The only thing you could possibly do there is plug the Aerobed unit into the back wall outlet.

That looks like a lot of effort just to check the torque on the slide motor bolts.

I'm still scratching my head over how this happened. Seems it started with a piece of trim moving.

Buddy, my kitchen slide is doing the exact same thing on the other end on my DS. It is going in for repairs in March. I will try to get the repair solution and report back. The initial diagnosis is the slide is out of adjustment.

Ut oh… when you get passed along to a new thread, it surely means somethings wrong.

@GlampDaddy your photo is exactly how ours presented. At first, I thought the lower window box trim had merely shifted. Looked underneath and the extrusion was firmly fixed to the floor…with nothing there I could find to just tighten and shift it back up into alignment. We decided to take a trip this past summer/fall to include Bauer to have captains chairs recovered, and include Newmar to have the slideout adjusted, half bath buckling wall fixed, some paint and diamond shield redone, and a Newmar logo replaced. Tech said the floor had swollen due to water damage…and would take 32 hrs to remove the bed, floor, etc..and repair. Couldn’t get fitted into busy repair schedule…but went ahead and scheduled for less busy winter visit.

He is redoing the seal around automatic slide out lock...as it appears to have been a possible entry for water while extended, new seal around the whole box, new floor, some new rollers, new motor… Floor was finally delivered to the stall today. Tomorrow they we see how far they get. We may be spending another weekend here.

Scary thing is…it is going to be just like it was before, so, I don’t know how long it will take for this issue to arise again. I know I will be checking seals and the auto lock seating to hopefully prevent water incursion again. And they will rain booth the coach after repairs are complete.

But you don’t hit your head anymore. Much easier to get to.

At least we got an excellent view of how these things are constructed. Which always helps when trying to sort out issues that arise.

If it only the reveal…it may be a simple adjustment. If the trim inexplicably shifts…corner piece gaps…trim separated leaving a gap between the top edge and the line where the silicone sealant still resides millimeters away…then it is very likely a damaged floor. Can still peek underneath to see if there is a gap between the floor and the aluminum extrusion. If they are still firmly attached...then simply tightening some screws isn’t going to be the fix.

This past summer…our tech did use some longer screws to try to pull the floor up enough to allow us to use the slideout…but the reveal gained was soon lost and our motor which was held on by 2 1/2 bolts…popped another leaving us with only two mounting bolt castings intact. We have been operating with BR slide in since mid-August.

Kitchen slideout seems like a real bear. The wiring cascade under the sink…much larger floor piece, cabinets, and furnishings…. Oh boy. Not a fun time. I certainly hope I am wrong…and it is simply an adjustment.

Good as new! Trim lines up...reveal looks awesome. New motor, new rollers, new bulb seal...ready to rock. Slept in it last night with the BR slide extended.

@Chuggs - congratulations on reaching the finish line! How long did this take, and how long were you out of the coach?

We got delayed...production didn't have the floor ready when we came, even though it was ordered in August. They pulled the bed out and stopped...waiting for the floor. It was coded as a 32 hr job originally...and 5 days. Our delay pushed us into a second week...So we arrived on a Sunday...slept in the coach...and were in a Hotel Monday thru following Tuesday...slept again in the coach Tuesday...and just had a rain bay test this morning Wednesday. On the road before 10am...

I would recommend calling to see if the floor has been prepped the week before you show to avoid delays.
