I dont mean to intend to derail this thread but when I read this

My Garmin and I were not on speaking terms in Oregon....all the tunnels and bridges. It would plot my course and as I was heading toward a tunnel, the Garmin would flash a "!." Let's just say we had words!!

made me stop. Perhaps in another thread you might share how to deal with it and what we could learn from your experiences as I had it happen once hoping to never repeat again. We are planning to go to Oregon this summer.

I fixed it. When configuring your RV height/length/width specs do not include the TOAD in the length value. Her setup had RV + TOAD as length so that caused odd routing I believe.

No Neal I don't think that had anything to do with the tunnel issues and weight maximums on bridges in Oregon, although that certainly helped on routing out of Angel Fire. Thank you for that. ?

@sheridany I will start another post on the Garmin with respects to Oregon especially. It's all about researching....especially tunnel near Florence on Oregon cost where my GPS blew up in RED dire warnings that you actually had to accept on the Garmin.

THANK YOU! I can barely sit still in my seat ...want to get moving. I did Anacortes, Olympic Peninsula, Astoria and all along the Oregon coast (did 4th of July week in Newport) to Crater Lake, then Bend. Oh and the Columbia Gorge area where I had some big Oh sheeeeit moments. My Garmin and I were not on speaking terms in Oregon....all the tunnels and bridges. Now I need to do it again and stay longer at each place and add the things you added because I would LOVE it! I loved the Olympic Peninsula and definitely want to return. Where did ya'll stay if you don't mind me asking? Can you even believe I didn't even do any wine tasting there? Don't get me wrong, I drank plenty of wine, but I didn't go to any wineries. Need to do a redo ASAP! Thank you so much for taking the time to share. ?

I stayed at Salt Creek Recreation Area just west of Port Angeles. It is a beautiful place to camp - gorgeous views, tons of paths to walk, close to Crescent Beach. Perhaps not great for a Class A. I had to put several jack pads under the front tires or they would have been in the air. I hesitate to return there due to a stalker situation. I've heard there is a pretty good CG in Sequim, but that is so far from the west coast if you want to hike/walk the rainforest. Look forward to hearing about your trip and the CG.

RV parks for larger rigs (30' or more) are pretty scarce on the Olympic Penninsula. Much of our camping there was done years ago in a 21' travel trailer.

I liked the look of the Elwha Dam RV Park posted by @J&JD, but have never stayed there. Another option is the Riverview RV Park in Forks, WA. It is a small park (30 sites) but has some sites suitable for coaches up to 45'. Again, I have never stayed at this park, but am familiar with the area and it offers fairly easy access to the coastal part of Olympic National Park.

Out on the coast just south of Kalaloch, there used to be an "overflow area" in the park with no hookups, but great views of the Pacific Ocean and space for larger rigs. Don't know if it is still there. It has been a few years since we've been over to Kalaloch.

When we go to Pryor mountain, we have stayed at Sage creek campground. One year we ventured out on the BLM lands pryor to reaching Sage Creek, and found some very good camping. At night it is very dark, it makes the stars so brilliant. This has been one of the major draws for us each year, usually spending 3 nights boon docking. This is a picture of our 2013 DSDP on the BLM lands.

There are several routes to leave pryor mountains and head back to I25. The route we take is a very steep and windy road. The first time I took this road was in 2012 with my 40FT Discovery with the ISB, towing my 3/4 Ton Crew Cab diesel pickup. The discovery couldn't take it, and we ended up having to disconnect and drive it separately.

This road is the reason I purchased the dutch star. I was so embarrassed sitting on the side letting the engine cool down.

When we did this same road in 2013 with our Dutchstar, it handled it with no problems.

This sign is at the end of the road. The direction I was going was a climb the entire way. We have also done this in reverse, and it is much faster
