Newmar contacted me with a Pickup Date November 6th. I asked if build date had slipped? He explained that they like to leave room in the pickup schedule for delays in production and Service Center schedule.
If a sooner date is available they will contact me.
Looking forward to the FPU!

I believe (have heard) that FPU's get a gap between end of production and your visit so they can thoroughly check everything and prep for the FPU. Another reason to do the FPU. Much better quality control I believe.

My off line production date was September 15th, 2019, same day as the announcement of the Winnebago acquisition of NEWMAR!

FPU date was week of October 10th, 2019. Two reasons, techs were at International in Syracuse, & they wanted time to properly inspect, & repair, fix any issues found prior to "FPU"! Essentially a technician "QC" inspection!
During our stay, we found four additional issues to be fixed! I received a 9 page "Repair Order" of things fixed, repaired, etc, prior to arrival. But, a detailed explanation of each item, so only about 3 items , maybe 4 per page!
A GREAT EXPERIENCE! And to me, definitely worth the expense!! I'm sure it saved me untold trips to a Dealer for repairs, etc, and valuable time, & travel time too!

"JOE"....Enjoy the experience, take a nice "Demo" drive, & thoroughly test & check everything about your new Dutch star! Mechanical, Electrical, Technology, etc!! Have fun, & Good Luck!!

IMHO, a FPU is a great move especially since it was our 1st RV. The Tech assigned to you go through everything ahead of the pickup and the tech will go through all operations of the rig with you. Get set for a very very long Demo drive with the Tech which included the Freightliner Rep with us.
I set up our toad beforehand and towed it back home to pick up everything out of storage to begin our full time adventure.
Best of luck with your Rig!
