2022 Dutchstar 4369. Need to route a cat5 from the overhead cabinet above the driver to the dinette. So far I have the cable under the dash and through the firewall. Seems fairly straight forward to get up to the OH cabinet. Would love to hear any details / lessons learned experience from anyone who has managed to get a cable through the slide cable / water trays and into the dinette area.

I had that very run done for me. Not hard. You have to remove the plastic cover on the A pillar, left of windshield. You'll see all the wires running in that path. From OH cabinet you'll go down and then through the firewall into the GEN bay, probably have to remove the gob of foam sealant. Then you go essentially back through the battery bay over the wall into the basement and then you have to route through the cable path that goes out to the FWS. The unfun part is you'll have to drill a hole to get into the dinette. Plan this carefully as Newmar hit my ice maker line and had to replace it. You should find things like the 120V outlet run in that area that the frig plugs into.

If you're not comfortable doing it pay Newmar to do it for you. But I'm curious why you need it?

Thanks for the quick response.

Reason for the run is My pepwave will be located in the driver overhead cabinet due to external antenna (Parsec Husky 7-1) connections also in that location. I have my laptop set up at my dinette and also have a AP in that location. Plan is to use the "midship" AP for my private WIFI and connect the laptop to the AP via ethernet. Currently plan to disable pepwave WIFI and only use WIFI as WAN via the external antenna. Although my use of external WIFI will likely be pretty limited since most park WIFI is not very good and I currently do not run a VPN so basically no security when using park WIFI as WAN.
 
That's pretty much my setup. I have a switch on the bottom wall that an AP is plugged into which feeds Wi-Fi internal to the coach. I also have a Synology NAS in there and cables that I can connect to computers (I have a Dell dockstation there too). I also have an ethernet that goes from that area to the AV box in the bedroom that the Dish wally plugs into but I don't really use SAT any longer so that run is moot now. But there is an Apple TV in there that can use the cable if needed but it's always done well with Wi-Fi.

I have so many gadgets using Wi-Fi that turning that off isn't an option for me. TV's, Amazon Echo devices, Temp sticks, Solar, Apple TV's, Phone/iPads etc.

As for wire runs, I added four running lights (3 amber and 1 red) to each side of coach and wired them to the turn signals in hopes ot might make lane changes less of an ordeal. Not sure it really helped much, but running the wire through the basement compartments was easy enough.

Also added a remote controlled spotlight (Golight) on the roof and used the same driver’s side A-pillar space behind the plastic cover to run wire. I brought it down under the dash and then into the electrical bay for power. If it works out, thats how I’d get the cat 5 run in to the basement.

AP = Access Point a device that creates a wireless local area network, or WLAN. An access point connects to a wired router, switch, or hub via an Ethernet cable, and broadcasts Wi-Fi signal.

NAS = Network Attached Storage an intelligent storage device connected to your network.

You are forgetting the most important of all...drone(s) emphasis on more than one in the fleet.
