I meant to keep a running log of this event here at Deer Springs, but here we are on Day 4 of a 7-day event, and I’m just now making my first post. I suppose that lends some credibility to the rumor that I’m a slacker...

Night 2 was pizza night. Trish picked up 12 pizzas from Jaxson’s, and by the end of the evening, there wasn’t much left. Apparently, we calculated correctly—or everyone was really hungry.
Night 3 was rib night. We handed out a couple racks of ribs to the participants and ended up with a great assortment of some seriously good ribs. Add plenty of desserts, beer and wine, and somehow we even managed to dodge the rain.
Night 3 was taco night up at our house. We also had Jamie playing guitar and keyboard for a few hours. Trish and I met him a couple months ago at the Slanted Window tasting station and thought he’d be a great fit for the event. Turns out we were right.
Tonight is night 4 and we're doing a shrimp boil down at our site.
Tomorrow is chili night, and we’ll have the Alton Lane Band providing the entertainment.
So far, lots of food, lots of music, lots of laughs, and apparently not much time for keeping that running log I promised.
