All - If anyone has a campground they like near Highlands, NC I would appreciate a recommendation. There is one south of there in GA, but it's down below the nice cool air. There is also a resort up in Scaly, NC as well, The owner is sort of a friend of a friend, but we don't want to own a lot, I have enough RE now.

So if you know of anything I would be appreciative of that place you have stayed in. I did search, but could not determine if the ones I found are any good. In this day and COVID, it may be almost impossible to get into one now but it never hurt to try.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you, I will check it out tomorrow.

X2 on Mountain Falls. Been there twice and going again in October to ride motorcycles in the Smokies. Google Maps says 22 curvy miles to Highlands...

Oh yeah, I've visited the Highlands. Don't want to take the coach there, but you will have a ball on your motorcycles going there.

All - Checked out the recommendation, looks like a wonderful Place. BUT, at 106-108.00 daily, I can replace the a/c in the house for that much money. We have been to Highlands, NC lots of times staying in our Timeshare, but have not ever camped up there. I contacted the park and she sent me some driving direction, which I most likely would follow. Although NC-64/74 might work too.
We are still kicking it around. I figure 1/2 tank diesel to get there, the week stay, and the 1/2 tank back, mighty expensive trip. And we are concerned that COVID will make NC and GA shut down the economy again, and I might be stuck up there, unable to return home. Or having to self quarantine for two weeks or something. Going to bide my time, and see what transpires and I do need to take coach someplace to run out the water, and just use it so thinking about the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Campground near Hiwassee, GA. stayed there 4 years ago, and it's a nice place. Need to figure out when, then call for reservations.
