Hello,

We are doing research on a new RV (fifth wheel or class C/Super C).

If we go with a Class C we want to trailer our TOAD. Do campgrounds have designated spaces for TOAD trailers?

Thanks,
Fred

Some do, some don’t. What would your TOAD be? There might be other options like a dolly which can often be kept on your site, then there’s flat towing.

There are pros and cons to a trailer. These are my opinions based on our limited experience with a super c towing a trailer.

Each campground is quite different. Up until now (only 8 months full time) we have only once had to put our trailer in a parking lot and do have future plans where we will need to drop the trailer in a trailer lot the campground told us would be available.

Google maps is our friend when planning, and of course following up with a phone call to confirm with the campground. There have been many campgrounds we have skipped because, IMO, we were just too large and/or I didn’t want to risk navigating the tight turns that appeared to be there.

And on our trailer we carry a SUV. When we need to drop the trailer and maneuver it into a spot, we use the SUV to move the trailer as it is much more nimble to back the trailer into tight location. (See pic below)

For a sense of what my opinions are based on: 45’ super c with a 29’ trailer for a total combined length of 74’.

Happy to answer any questions or give an opinion.

It is fun to get past the decisions and start making memories.
