Hello. We have a '97 34-ft Winnebago Adventurer that we bought new. That is to say, we are no longer young! We have kept the RV in excellent shape, but would now like to explore how to carry a power chair, specifically, a 41 lb. Air Hawk, on the RV. It fits in the large back compartment, but it is hard to get it in and out. Does anyone have a recommendation of a carrier that would mount on the back to carry one (and maybe soon 2) Air Hawks?

Do you tow a vehicle? If so, might you be able to store one on a hitch carrier attached to the tow vehicle and another on the hitch between the tow vehicle and the motorhome, using something like a Roadmaster dual hitch receiver to split the receiver.

Thinking out loud, that would likely interfere with your tow bar, again assuming you are towing at all.

Thanks, MapNerd! Generally, we do not tow a vehicle. We do have a hitch-mounted bicycle carrier. I thought about that, but it is not designed for a folding powerchair which is much heavier (41 lbs each) than a bike.

Probably the best thing I can think of for your situation is to go to a metal fabrication shop and have a custom hitch made with two, 2 inch receivers, each offset from the center as necessary to allow for two hitch mounted power chair carriers to be mounted side by side on the rear of the motorhome.

Then you’d want to find two off the shelf power chair carriers, likely with ramps with one dropping its ramp to the passenger side and the other dropping its ramp to the drivers side.

Another simpler option could just be a small 6’ trailer.
