TRIP PLANNING
Sorry, I guess this is a sensitive subject.

After reading through the (very informative) wandering posts of this thread I've decided to update my advice. The AI I have used is apparently outdated. I believe an AI planned itinerary would very interesting to see. If something more current was used.

I've had some idea on the shelf for years of going Hwy 20 coast to coast and then circling back via Route 66. Sort of. It's a bit tricky and convoluted though. Thinking of subscribing to Chat and throwing that at it first thing.

The free versions actually do a pretty good job for most ordinary mortal everyday uses. I'm not very smart anyway so the free versions to me are way above my pay grade anyway. If you're doing something professionally or you're just wanting to get serious about it the paid versions will however step the game up to another level.
Try inserting your parameters in the free version and see what happens.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI/ChatGPT, has been involved is a years long non profit project experimenting with the Universal Basic Income (UBI). You won't have a job, but you'll get a monthly stipend, so you can buy what they produce. Kinda like how the Eloi were to the Morlocks.
Recced for Wells reference!

My job is one that AI can't take over, as is my wife's. I guess we're atypical as far as millennials go in that respect.
Mine and my wife's too. We retired in June.

We were both educators; she taught middle school and I was in higher ed. Not sure what AI will hold for all education jobs, but there's a part of it that I believe will always need people.

Can AI teach critical thinking skills? I dunno ...

Is it still legal to teach critical thinking skills in schools?

Keep thread on topic please. FOCUSSSSSSSSS!

FOCUS MORE!!!

Doesn't he get excited though?
Anyway I ran a theoretical scenic Highway 20 trip through the free version of ChatGPT just now and am well pleased with what it came back with. Going back to tweak the input and results. If only had the time and money to do the actual trip.

Good point ...

So regarding AI. The key is writing good and specific prompts. To wit:

I am planning a trip to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I would like to avoid steep grades if possible. I would also like to avoid as much traffic as possible. The clearance on my travel trailer is eleven feet. Give me a route.

Then , of course, you verify it. Trust, but verify!

🤦‍♂️

Can most people?
