We're living full-time in our Class C down here in American Samoa, and the humidity is brutal on everything. Our current plastic toilet has developed a faint smell around the base that I can't seem to get rid of no matter how much I clean it. I'm leaning toward swapping in a ceramic model, and I keep coming back to the Dometic 410 because the footprint looks like it might fit our tiny bathroom.

Before I commit, I'm trying to figure out whether ceramic is actually the upgrade I think it is in a damp climate, or if I'm just trading one set of problems for a heavier one. The install also worries me a little since our floor flange isn't perfectly level.

I found this third-party overview while comparing options: Dometic 410 Complete RV Toilet Review. Has anyone here dealt with humidity-related toilet odors or made the switch to ceramic? Would really appreciate hearing what worked for you.

I was wondering if you now have the Dometic 300 toilet. It's very common and can have an odor problem due to an interior seal. Also, since your flange may not be sealing properly, I would start there before making a big change.
