Class A purchase

Ongoing quest for information about buying a gas vs diesel that has 1 1/2 bathrooms. Looking for something about 7 to 9 years old that we can use for about 5 years and then sell it without losing 75% of its value. With diesel prices 50% more than gas, I'm not convinced diesel is worth it. We would travel the south route from Fort Myers to San Diego and then up to Medford Oregon. So, im not sure we need to worry about mountain driving. Thoughts....Constructive thoughts please
