When I want to clean my car engine compartments I just use the power washer at a nearby car wash. Soap pressure the whole nine yards. What about the engine and generator areas of our coach (class A diesel pusher). Is it safe to spray with hose and nozel? Is it okay to use a power washer I have at home? Appreciate any lessons already learned.

No different than your car engine. Feel free to clean the same way. I try not to direct spray into the alternator and don’t use really high pressure units but soap & water and a bit of pressure are fine.

Much the same here. I avoid the alternator, and I don’t use pressure washer. No particular reason for that other than comfort level.
