The upper extremities of the coach on the front, sides and back are starting to loose the clearcoat finish, milking out and fading to white. Seems like they didn't lay it on thick enough at the top of the coach. I've see a few other coaches have the same problem. Has anyone had this refinished up at Newmar and if so, what's the procedure and ballpark cost of a job like that?

I have a traveling friend with 2018 DS. The entire front cap came off in almost a full sheet. Newmar repainted that section in 2023 at no cost. Now it's coming off in sheets on the sides. The estimate Newmar gave was 15k. I'm not sure if the cost figure was for one side or both. Sorry I can't contact him to verify it will be a couple week before I can talk to him.

I contacted Newmar service and they said 10k to repair the clearcoat around the top of the coach. Then, he said there was a customer good will perk that would reduce it to 5k if done January - March. Not sure if I really want to make the trip during winter months from South Florida, especially booking a year in advance when no one knows what the weather will be like.

I suggest getting a quote from NIRVC. My understanding is their paint shop is better than Newmar's.

I've been to Newmar the last two years and have an appointment this March. I request the last week in March so no weather issues. I agree with Neal about NIRVC. I had the Grapevine service center do some work for me five years ago and they did a very good. Not sure about Atlanta service center.

I've been to Atlanta NIRVC once. Don't think I'll be going back again. I'm sure @GlampDaddy can relate. :censored:

I plan on doing my Ventana this year. Do myself. Hardest part will be masking off to prevent over spray. I'm just too cheap to pay $10-$15k for a job you can hardly see the quality. You can get the paint and clear coat in rattle cans.

Yeah, I was actually going to just use gloss black Rustoleum to fade into the upper black as it wouldn't be noticeable from ground level. I've heard mixed reviews on the rattle can 2 part clearcoat.

I repainted my brother's DS front bottom clip under hood door with cans. He was putting new diamond shield on. Took his fridge exterior cover to paint shop so they could image the paint color to match. Fixed a couple cracks in the bottom from previous owner. Sprayed a clear sealer on, then paint, then k2 clear. Looks like factory, and we did it outside at our winter campground.

An alternative to paint. I have lots of stone chips on the nose of my coach. We full time so down time of at least a week for a pro shop to clean it up is not a pleasant thought. I am, instead going to have a wrap shop cover the mess. A wrap will not make the chips disappear but a little autobody putty (not bondo filler) is an easy fix so they won't show plus a lot less expensive than sanding them all out. Just the black on the nose and hood to be done. The Precept lettering will stay. Just carefully cut around the lettering. For those that want to match a color or custom designs, usually not a problem. How to Vinyl-Wrap a Car
