Yes its possible your panels are charging your batteries directly depending on how things are wired, and yes if they are charging your batteries, they could over charge them. The way to check is to disconnect the battery cables from the coach to the batteries on a sunny day, and test the cables to see if they are getting power. If so an appropriate charge controller is in order.
