First time forum user
I purchased a Watchdog surge protector 30amp. With the shutdown all the bells and whistles like Bluetooth.
Here is my question the first time I use it. the second night of travel was the first time first time I used it and just plugged it in to the power at the park. All seemed good and then hooked up the power cord from the trailer and proceeded with setting up my rv.
The next day when leaving I had a no brakes at the trailer.
This proceeded into a week of roadside assistance and taking my tow vehicle to a dealership. Replacing parts just to eliminate a possibility. Note I was a 1000 miles from home. I found if I removed a fuse in my tow vehicle to a turn signal that my brakes would work. But minus one trailer right turn working. Once home a the dealership for the RV had the unit for 3 months it turns out that the trailer ABS unit wiring were fried. Literally melted.
So now I am gun shy in using the Watchdog surge protector since the one time I used it my Lippert ABS unit got fried.
