I am obsessed with the idea of going full time. My wife and I have an income of a little over $3,000 per month. Can put %75 down on an RV. We would be selling our home. This is where it gets scary. I am 67, my wife is 65. Is it difficult to get medical on the road with Medicare? Can you set up residence in a state with low taxes? We are both on social security. I think I have more questions than fear. I really want to jump on this. I just need to do it. Can you give me your experience in getting started. What do I have to fear?

Welcome aboard! I am not to your stage yet but I am sure someone will chime in!

Been planning full time (in my head) for several years. Last January I decided to pull the plug. We gave the kids 2 weeks to take whatever they wanted, hired an estate company to auction the rest then sold the house. I am 73 and the wife is 64.

We are both pretty healthy and haven’t needed any medical except bi-annual check ups. We scheduled them and stay at our daughters a couple of days then back on the road.

So far we are living on about $2,500 per month. Cost has been going down each month. Wife goes on Medicare in Feb. and I’m looking forward to that.

Our daughter is in Texas, she takes care of our mail and everything is registered / insured in Texas using their home as ours.
