Thread 'Lake Lurleen, Alabama'
Lake Lurleen State Park inn Coker, Alabama is the prettiest and nicest campground we have ever visited. It was recently remodeled/refurbished and it is fantastic! The waterfront sites are beautiful and spacious (some of the others are a bit tight) and easily take a 40ft RV. I’m pretty sure that all sites have full hook-ups, the bathrooms are clean, air conditioned, and roomy. There are 2 or 3 docks for fishing, a swimming beach, and they rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards/boats. Near...
I store my 2018 Baystar in an rv garage at my mother's house, the other day she told me that there was a weird smell in the garage, today I dropped by and opened the door to the house battery tray and you could hear a hissing. Pulled the tray out and of the four Interstate group 24 lead acid battery's the second one was very hot and you could see moisture on the top of it. I unplugged the Inteli-power battery charger. I have owned this for about 10 months and the battery's don't have a date...
Does anyone have any experience with Power Queen lithium smart batteries? They seem to be a good deal if good batts.
Want to plan a trip to Branson at end of September and looking for recommendations. Looking for a scenic area. Hiking swimming near by. Gonna be in our C class Thanks
Thread 'Egg tray!'
I've been in this RV 9 years now, still honing my storage and organization skills. I blame this on Amazon for recommending it to me when I was searching or ordering something else but hey, I like it and I like that it has a cover so I can stack things on top of it, like my hard boiled eggs I always keep in stock for protein snacks. This for some reason is one of the last things I think about and I remember from the balloon fiesta many found theirs low and Onan/Cummins was on site servicing everyone which was cool. Before departing this morning I checked mine as I run my gen often, especially driving in this heat (96F today) to keep house A/C's running and yep, it was low. I have the ONAN 8K which takes the Fleetguard CC2825: https://www.fleetpride.com/parts/fleetguard-antifreeze-coolant-cc2825 I need to find more...
Thread 'Carowinds Camp Wilderness (Charlotte, NC)'
Just left NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, what a little gem that is for full hookups and nice sites for 45/night. I've been there before, last time it was white and my city water became a water feature when my blue filter burst from freezing. A little different this time with it friggin hot out. Now I'm at Carowinds in Charlotte, NC (south edge) where I usually hang out before moving over to Freightliner service in Gaffney, SC an hour away. Cozy quiet campground here with great places to...
Opinions requested from those that have been there. Planning a trip to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. From there, going north thru Sault Ste. Marie into Canada. then East to Sudbury. (Anything interesting between them?) Question is, do I go South from there or East to North Bay and then South. Which might be better, more interesting, better sights, & decent campgrounds, etc.? Planning to head East from Hamilton (1 hour) to see the Canadian side of Niagara Falls; I hear they are far...
For the geeks here, I don't know this is specific to Peplink's speed fusion or if it's a VPN thing but I've had a few cases lately where I'm getting 403 forbidden errors when visiting a website such as booking a campground. Reddit blocked my visit as well until I turned off my outbound policy to route through speedfusion. I did a quick google search and found the info about this and how to setup outbound policies if needed for domains to change routing. Interesting situation, seems to be...
I have a seasonal site at a campground. I have a park model unit and it has a basement a/c unit powered by 110 volts. The heat source is a normal rv unit that uses propane and operates on 12 volts 1.5 amps. Here is a pic of the wiring for the current thermostat and has no C wire and thermostat has 2 AA batteries to work off of. I’m would really like to put in a smart thermostat tied into the internet here so I can cool this place down before we get here in the summer temperatures...
I updated my devices (and fusion hubs) when checking upon arrival yesterday as I started my trip. Fusion is working amazing, speeds are outstanding. No need for Starlink. I'm in the Raleigh, NC area for now. https://www.peplink.com/technology/firmware-8-6-0/
After my FL service in Gaffney, SC I'm thinking of running up the coast for this end of summer trip I'm about to start on. I'm considering a stop recommended by my BIL to Frisco, NC (Cape Hatteras area). Interesting location. Anyone that's ventured out that way please share your opinions, recommendations, etc...
I've replaced the two lead acid house batteries with two 100 amp hour LiFePo4s. I've changed the main power converter so that when on shore power, the LiFePo4s are charged to 14.6 volts. The solar charge regulator also charges them to 14.6 volts (given enough time and unobstructed sunlight...). But when I'm driving, the Ford chassis charging system won't bring them any higher than 13.6 to 13.8 volts. I understand it is possible to install a device that will 'step up' the voltage from...
Thread 'Camper Larry's Sun Lite 19RB Build & Adventures'
So I'll begin our journey by saying my wife likes to put the cart before the horse because she knows I'll never agree to buying the cart in the first place. After she buys the cart I have to figure out the horse, and also the cart, and she just shows up to ride in both....LOL. Case in point. The wife wanted a camper so she went out and bought a new 2025 Sunlite 19RB camper back in February. When we show up at the dealer to pick it up, the first thing the salesman says is "What do you plan...

Thread 'Canadian West Coast'
I have to name this "Where were you with your Jayco today". Sorry to jump in but.... We are traveling to the Canadian West Coast. The forests are on fire and the smoke is so thick it stings our eyes. If you have ever driven the Coquihalla you will know there are some long, steep grades. A fellow coach owner almost made it to the top of one but sadly, didn't make it. The coach caught fire and started another forest fir. We were about 15 minutes behind. Photo one is what was left...
