I want to change out the coolant on my 2006 Holiday Rambler Ambassador. It has an 8.3L Cummins diesel engine. I'm pretty familiar on how to flush the coolant in a car or pickup. Any big differences here? What about the PH of the coolant? I've read that diesel engines need to have the PH checked in the coolant so it doesn't eat a hole in the piston liners causing an expensive repair. Any experts here that want to share? What testing kit do you use on the coolant? What PH additive do you use? How much is it if I just pay the local Cummins Dealer to do this for me? Thanks in advance!

The base coolant that is used (Cummins premix water/coolant) is good for 300k miles. Maybe you only think you need to change it?

I only have 49K miles on mine so maybe I don't need to change it. But how about the PH level? How do you check it? I've seen test strips on Amazon but I'm really unclear what to add or how much to add if the PH is off.
