Spoke with Cummins in Orlando that has been searching for a persistent and elusive coolant leak in the 2024 DutchStar.
During our discussion, the topic of the radiator noting hold pressure was discussed?? This set off all sorts of alarms in my head.

They did find a couple faulty/loose hose clamps which they replaced. Put in a quart of coolant.

Questioned about coolant system not holding pressure, they did not seem particularly concerned??? Could be this or that..etc was their comments.

There is not a cooling issue as I watch the Coolant Gauge like a hawk. Watch it cycle an 1/8 width as the thermostat cycles. (Holdover from Aviation days). We have driven on the expressway in 115F weather without an engine cooling issue.

I'll check the oil when I get back to pick up the RV.

Thoughts?

You need to have them pressure test the cap, I was parked next to a DS in Maine last year, he mentioned he was having coolant issues and they finally figured out all he needed was a new cap, he told me to watch out for it and have it tested annually

Final determinations done at Cummins; loose coolant hoses. Replaced several faulty hose clamps, cleaned the engine area with a steam cleaner, retested to determine that radiator system holds pressure, it does.
$975 at the end of the day. Clearly took several hours to determine exactly where and what was the issue.

Cummins correctly stated they warranty the engine, Newmar/Spartan are liable for the installation.

Already have a call into Newmar. The leaking coolant was unsuccessfully addressed at annual this year so I am expecting Newmar to help with the repair expense.

Mary at Newmar will work with Spartan to pay for this Cummins Service.
