I am getting ready to replace slide out awnings and i started unscrewing end caps but it looks as if maybe winding is inside it . i need to unroll them so i can do the new ones .

There are several YouTube vids on how to do this. I don’t know what your rig is, but generally speaking, you don’t take the end caps off.

you need to pull the awning material out all the way then lock in place with a pin that goes through the awning tube. There is a spring inside that needs to be locked in place.

Tough Top Awnings has some DIY videos.

thanks i have a 2007 monaco ill attach pic of awning

The link to the videos I posted will show you exactly how to change your awning.

Got the cover off that had little tiny pushpins and it folds down. Just not sure if I can take an end Off or not
