Tire blowouts sure seems at the forefront of late and keeping your pet(s) safe in the event of an incident is certainly something to be aware of. If something goes south while driving a RV of about any type, things are going to go flying and your pet(s) may be included. I use a sofa cover (protector) and Elli is always harnessed and attach to the seat belt and enjoys riding the good life sleeping on the sofa while traveling. I think the harness gives her a sense of security as well, she allows me to put it on her without any resistance. Here is what I use:

We always put the cats in carriers when traveling for their safety. They seem to understand that the loud truck outside can't come get them.
