I had actually forgotten that a hammock came with my coach. Pulled it out from under the bed and set it up for the first time in 2 years. I think I’ll start using it more often! ( Flying Flags Rv Park Avila Beach, California. )

I bought two (stupid) and carry one. They take up a lot of space but I too enjoy it. Bought a more portable one as discussed recently:

I never took mine out of the bag.

I'm assuming you're talking about the factory option hammock. We used ours the first year, but storing that long beam and case for the hammock itself along with setting it up was just a PITA. That and the fact that it attaches to the coach in the middle of the living area, it's constantly in the way. I thought about relocating the bracket to the rear area, but we decided to leave it at home. Bought a couple zero gravity chairs that work just as well.

I keep the hammock "beam" above the chassis rail, not in the storage bag. I had an additional mount added at Newmar, so I have 3 now. I should probably get a few more added :)

I didn’t like the fact that it mounted at the rear edge of kitchen slide, middle of the coach like @lostinfla stated. Always in the way! Last visit to Newmar we added mount at back edge of bedroom slide, much better location.

Being more stationary in Florida we have it up and use it more.BD6280F5-0283-4E45-8F4C-7C3675DCD97C.jpeg

Great idea @NWIP. Do you know how they mounted the mount?

Quote is for the bracket and backing plate. It was determined that backing plate was not required (not charged for) as there was already reinforcement in the slide. It is identical to the one on kitchen slide.

If interested I can let you know final cost tmo but was approx $300

$300 for four screws and a bracket? Didn’t you feel you needed Vaseline with that?

Well, they probably weren’t just any screws. They were self tapping screws.
