Has anyone here removed and reinstalled an AC unit re-using the same gasket? Not sure if you really need to buy a new one as it looks pretty beefy.

If it leaks you will wish you replaced it.

It is stuck to the unit. As long as the material is supple...you'll be okay. Might want some butyl tap to put over the bolt holes before srewing it down, and silicone for the bolt holes.

I bought another gasket but after looking at the original, I let it ride and returned the new one. I usually fill the bolt holes with clear silicone then install the bolts. We have had several torrential rains since then and no leaks.

I’m looking at this now. So, our rooftop unit I installed is the third that has used those bolt holes. It appears all they purchase on is the roof deck layup. There isn’t a stud or an Air Distribution Box below with threaded nuts. It seems it just isn’t getting any bite. Silicone might help…but not going to really squeeze any gaskets down. I did find one bolt longer than the others, that I bet the tech used when he put the second unit up there. Newmar ingenuity…

I thought I had a picture of the layers that I removed when I bored a hole for solar prep…to find the #6 wires they had installed. Can’t find it now.

If you do replace…make sure you add the divider to interface with the abs roof pan that Newmar installs with an aluminum structure underneath. It divides the supply and return side ducting.
