Door entrace wont open

I have a 2019 Airstream Classic and when I tried to open the door to go outside the black handle to open the door latch went up more then normal and now its stuck in that position. Its like it is jammed. The door won't open. I read online that the cam has over rotated and it is wedge tightly against the striker plate. My next option is to use the back escape window to get outside of the Airstream and see if the door latch on the outside can open the door. Any suggestions?

Try removing the handle plate exposing the actuator rod then manually pull the rod to retract the latch.

I'm only able to remove 1 screw out of three because the other 2 is being blocked by the screen door frame.

Well that's certainly a sticky wicket then. This is a long shot but if you take the one screw out you could get enough clearance behind the plate to insert a foot long piece of metal clothes hanger with a hook bent in the end to grab and pull the actuator back. That or get it loose enough to jiggle the lever down and up.

A neighbor next to me opened the door from the outside and the door opened. So now I have access to the inside plate. I took off the 3 screws but have no idea what im looking at and what caused the problem.

I took the inside plate off. Look like that metal u shape piece goes into the actuator some home came out of its position? But put in back into position screwed it back on and its working fine now. Thank you for your help. Appreciate it
