I parked my discovery yesterday, turned it off and exited to get some things out of the storage compartments. when I tried to go back into the coach the door is stuck. Handle and both locks move freely but bolt will not disengage. I didnt lock it and had been in and out several times prior. I am assuming my handle broke internally but just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. I have tried all the tricks I read about with pushing the door, jiggling the key while turning, lifting the bottom of the door, etc. No windows are unlocked so I am at a loss short of calling a locksmith. Luckily this happened at home while parked in her space! Thanks in advance.

Do you have a fob for power locks? Did you try unlocking with fob. With the keys turning locks freely, I'm wondering if the solenoid for the dead bolt is bad? I've had something similar but I had access from the inside to re & re the entire Trimark handle/lock set. To access the solenoid, you need to remove the inside door panel.

Thank you! Just had AAA come out and the latch broke on the inside. He was able to unlock a window so my wife could climb in and open the door from the inside by jiggling it till it moved free. Good excuse to buy a keyless entry!

An '08 Discovery should have a keyless entry. I'd be very surprised if it's not there. It was standard equipment on Discoverys, Expeditions and Excursions of that era. Swing open the center console under the dash and look for a small black box attached to the floor at about the middle of the opening. If it's there, you already have a keyless system. New fobs can be acquired directly from REV parts. They're easy to program yourself.
