Off topic but from what I understand or heard, Gaffney service will be moving to a new facility thats being built. Any word on that?
If they do move, I hope it stays in the Gaffney area….as it is less than 75 miles from me and I like the convenience…

Thats what I was told. They are building their own facility as the college owns this property.

Based on information from last October when I was there>. The new service center was schedule to be complete by this October but it's not going to be ready until late 2027. The new service center will be close to factory. The plan was to have FHU campground, full restaurant and play area for kids. Now what is really build we shall see hopefully in October 2027.

That’s sounds pretty good! Getting something to eat there has always been an issue if you didn’t have a car in tow…

I just spoke to Shaun Bridges, the manager of the service center. They just got the bids in for the construction yesterday. 12 bay shop, room for Camp FL, large waiting area, 30 water and electric, 50 sites for overnighters. It will be located near the manufacturing area on 26 acres. Scheduled opening is October 2027.

Made it to the CG an hour away and thankfully the window remained "mostly" intact. I could hear the crackling the whole way, waiting for it to fly off, then someone finds a lawyer to ruin years ahead. The center area started shedding away and I could see it bowing out just waiting for it to separate. Fortunately there were a lot of slow downs on the interstate so speed kept mostly down.

Correction: I think the inner pane is not shattered, I think was I seeing a reflection.

Now we wait for the replacement to arrive and the tech to work me in his schedule.
