I just replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets on my little 5.9 in my truck....again. The original set leaked so I bought OEM style gaskets and replaced them at my brother's house when we were there a couple of years ago because of leakage. That set started whistling sometimes when I used the exhaust brake. They were a single layer stainless steel type. This set I put in are these: Amazon.com: MAHLE MS19225 Exhaust Manifold Gasket Set: Automotive Hopefully they will last longer because I am not sure if my right shoulder can take much more of that. I have a torn rotator cuff (been that way for about 16 years) that has never been fixed and I think I tore it a bit more. I was going to have it repaired before,but ended up with three vertebrae fused in my neck and the neurosurgeon wouldn't let anyone touch my shoulder until my neck healed.
