Faucet spins

Anyone else have issues with their kitchen faucet spinning and leaking on travel days? We installed a new faucet in our sink. On travel days when reaching the next Park we find water on the floor. We have started taping the faucet in place but what are you using?

The faucet always leaks whether it spins or not? Or does the spinning seem to cause the leak? Do you know where the water is coming from? From your description, it sounds like the faucet exit is moving over the counter where it leaks onto the counter and then ends up on the floor. Is that accurate? If so, why is the faucet leaking at all?

If you can, describe a clearer picture of the leak from the source to the floor.

First if the faucet is dripping that is a problem it shouldn't drip. I would check to see if you can tighten the trim ring around the faucet and see if tightening it would tighten up the swivel aspect of the faucet.

I am assuming this is a single hole faucet? If not, there are some serious problems. If so, the faucet is not installed correctly. The faucet should be installed such that it is firmly in place in the countertop and there is NO movement.

Sorry, I guess I used some words loosely. Original faucet never had any issues. We changed to a new faucet. First travel day at stop we found the faucet pointing over the floor instead of the sink. With a lot of water on floor. Second trip we found the faucet over the floor with water on floor and table. No question the vibration caused the water release to drop down and the faucet moves around. Last travels we just taped the faucet in place. No problem.

Never any water on floor or movement except when traveling.

Is this an RV faucet or a standard residential faucet? What brand? I replaced all of our faucets with RV full brass no plastic and they are awesome. You may have to take it back off and see if you can tighten the swivel. Maybe google the brand first and see if it can be tightened,

@Russellvh I think it's normal for kitchen faucets to rotate. My house does, my RV does as well. Am I understanding you wrong? Are you expecting yours to remain in centered position?

Also, you can replace faucets if you want. I changed several of mine in my RV. Not hard to do. There's nothing special about RV faucets, they are the same as residential, etc.

On travel days, release the pressure on the line, make sure pump is off and that should take care of most of the water in the line. Or it seems.

It appears t me that the "neck" is engineered to rotate. If it the entire faucet that is moving, there is a nut that holds it firm and on that nut there might be a set screw to make the nut permanently tight. At least that is how ours works.
