Hi! We are joining this group to share information and educate ourselves. We have had a popup in the distant past. We love the mountains and long distance drives anywhere on the continent. We are over 65 with 2 grandkids and would like information on pros and cons of travel trailer and towing combinations. Looking for easiest to drive and maintain brands. Safety of course is paramount. Look forward to sharing thoughts and advice. Oh, BTW, hubby is retired, but I am still a full time healthcare provider until this covid mess dissipates in a few years.

Welcome to RVF...and, thank you for being on the front lines of the Covid-19 health emergency. You are a blessing to all you care for.

Tell us a bit more about your wants and needs. Do you already have a tow vehicle, or will you be purchasing one specifically for this use? Wii the trailer be used for relatively short trips or more extended stays? Straight-pull or 5th wheel configuration preferred?

Tell us more.

TJ

Not sure which type of vehicle would suit us. I am very leery of purchasing a tow vehicle. Do not care for trucks. So am looking at the Mercedes camper vans as an option.

Welcome to RVForums.com @Texasgal. Ask any and all questions and this great community will gladly be at your side helping you out. Welcome aboard.

Any idea how long you might be camping for? A camper van might feel cramped if you’re in there for several weeks, especially with grandkids but can be great for short little trips and/or boondocking.

Do you have an approximate budget?
