First Class C Purchase

My wife and I are considering our first RV purchase, and have narrowed our search to a gas powered Class C. We would like to sleep 6 for those few occasions that our son and his family can camp with us. We've attended a few shows over the years and have noticed the wide range of quality of construction and materials in the Class Cs we've walked through. Our biggest challenge at this point seems to be settling on size. We would like to be able to visit a wide range of parks, but also value space. We'd appreciate opinions on pros and cons of sizes and models ranging between 25 and 31 feet.
