I have recently posted about repairing the Oasis unit. Another item on my "punch list" after fall use. The floor heat wasn't wanting to work. I can tell you when the oasis is not working very well and the floor heat is not working and the wife gets out of bed and the "headlights" come on high beam she is a little gripey. So, I get the Oasis going in the right direction and start in on the floor heat. SYMPTOM- All three zones were acting the same, when activated they light up, show low setting, and heating. This was lasting 2-5 seconds and then all lights would go out. I went to newgle and dug around and on to Aries engineering. Aries kept calling out a controller that allows setting timers and temperatures. I couldn't find that rascal anywhere. I did find the relays for the bedroom and bathroom in the cabinet in the mid bath inside the two 4" junction boxes. I had 120 volts to those relays. I finally called Newmar and got Bethany. She was a brand specialist. She sent me a photo of the RELC2-100 and 101I that activates the relays. I went through what was going on and she reached out and got Tammy and Walt on the line from KIB. I traced wires, unhooked wires, and checked voltages as advised by Walt. It had him stumped. I mentioned that I had pulled the fuse hoping it would reset something because it just acted like something somewhere was confused and couldn't find its way home. Walt said " You pulled the fuse, have you flipped the salesman switch?". I said no this is a 120 volt problem. I hit the salesman switch and the damn thing started working. It is a 120 volt system with a 12 volt controller. I felt really embarrassed. I did get a nugget from this however. On our KIB systems, low, medium, and high is the only "timer" we have. 7.5, 15, and 30 minutes on and off is low, medium, and high. There is no thermostat. I had a couple of other minor issues that resolved themselves as well with the reset. So, KISS needed to jump to the front of the line and I relegated it to the caboose. Another lesson learned.
